About Chișinău Eugen Doga International (RMO)

Chișinău is Moldova's only airport with scheduled passenger flights, handling around 4 million passengers a year through a single compact terminal — roughly ten check-in desks and five gates, so queues bunch around waves of departures. Home carrier FLYONE runs the biggest network, Wizz Air is back with a base since December 2024, and HiSky, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Austrian and Pegasus fill out the map. Two renames are worth knowing: the IATA code changed from KIV to RMO in January 2024, and in 2025 the airport was named after composer Eugen Doga — old bookings and signs may still show the old identity.
The airport lies about 13 km southeast of central Chișinău, a 20–25 minute drive. The cheapest way in is a Chișinău classic: trolleybus 30 stops right outside the terminal and runs straight to the centre for 6 lei (~€0.30), every 15–25 minutes from about 05:30 to 23:30; pay the conductor on board, ideally in cash. Bus 33 also serves the centre and railway station but stops ~250 m from the terminal.
For taxis, skip anyone offering rides inside arrivals — order through an app (Yandex Go, Bolt, Hip, Letz) or use the official rank; expect roughly 100–150 lei (€5–8) to the centre. With the terminal this small, arriving 2 hours before a flight is plenty outside peak waves.
