- Nearly all foreign visitors must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) online before travelling to Kenya, via the official portal etakenya.go.ke. The eTA replaced the visa system from January 2024 and applies even to previously visa-exempt nationalities.
- Apply at least 3 days before departure. The eTA is typically valid for a single entry and a stay of up to 90 days.
- Passport must be valid at least 6 months. Apply only at the official etakenya.go.ke site — beware of unofficial look-alike sites charging extra fees.
