- Latvia follows the common Schengen visa policy. A short-stay (Category C) visa requires: a passport issued within the last 10 years valid 3+ months beyond departure, one 35x45mm photo, a completed application form, Schengen-wide travel medical insurance, and biometric data (fingerprints), unless collected by another Schengen state within the past 5 years.
- Minimum funds required: at least €14/day for stays under 30 days, or at least €780 (the minimum monthly wage) for stays over 30 days.
- Fee waivers apply to children under 6, students/researchers travelling for study or scientific purposes (per EU Directive 2016/801), and representatives of non-profit organisations under 25 attending seminars/conferences/sporting or cultural events; children under 12 pay no fee for long-stay visas.
