- Nepal issues tourist visas on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) and designated entry points, and in advance from Nepali diplomatic missions. Tourists can pre-complete the arrival application online through the official Nepaliport system.
- Official tourist visa fees (multiple entry): 15 days US$30, 30 days US$50, 90 days US$125. Extensions cost US$3 per day (minimum 15 days), with a US$5/day late fine.
- A tourist visa can be extended up to a maximum of 150 days within one visa year (January–December).
- Diplomatic and official passport holders are issued gratis (free) 30-day visas at entry points on the basis of a mission recommendation.
- Some nationalities are not eligible for a visa on arrival and must apply in advance at a Nepali mission — check the Department of Immigration's visa information and exemption pages before travelling.
