- Spain is in the Schengen Area. Visa-exempt travellers (US, UK, Canada, Australia, etc.) can visit for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa.
- Nationals who require a visa need a short-stay Schengen (type C) visa costing EUR 90 (age 12+), with proof of funds, accommodation, return travel and travel medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000.
- ETIAS (EUR 20) is expected to launch in Q4 2026 for visa-exempt travellers; a transitional period means it will not be strictly required for some months after launch.
- The EU Entry/Exit System (EES) began rolling out from 10 April 2026. Passport must be valid at least 3 months beyond departure from Schengen and issued within the previous 10 years.
