Georgia now requires health & accident insurance for every tourist
Since 1 January 2026, all visitors to Georgia — visa-free or not — must carry health and accident insurance covering their full stay, with minimum coverage of 30,000 GEL (~$11,000).

The Embassy of Japan in Russia has updated its tourist-visa checklist, tightening proof of income and employment. A visa remains mandatory for Russian citizens; applications go through the JVAC centre (VFS Global) in Moscow.

From 12 August 2026 South Africa's Electronic Travel Authorisation goes live at OR Tambo International: travellers who need a visa apply online, submit biometrics and get an approval in real time. The rollout starts with tourists from China, India, Indonesia and Mexico and will expand to all visa-required nationalities. Visa-free entry is unchanged.

Since 1 January 2026, Cabo Verde no longer issues visas on arrival to citizens of 91 countries — 21 of them in Latin America and the Caribbean, including Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela. Affected travellers must get a visa before boarding — online via EASE or at a Cabo Verdean embassy — or risk being denied boarding or entry. EU, UK, US, Canada, Brazil and Argentina nationals are unaffected and still only need free EASE pre-registration plus the airport fee.

Since 1 August 2026 Cairo airport issues the visa on arrival as a QR code — through an app, self-service kiosks in the arrivals hall or visaonarrival.gov.eg. Who is eligible has not changed. The digital route costs USD 36 instead of the USD 30 paper sticker, which is still sold in parallel during the pilot.

From 3 August 2026 the B-1/B-2 visa bond stops being a pilot. Nationals of 50 countries can be told to post $10,000, $15,000 or $20,000 before a visitor visa is issued — the pilot's floor was $5,000. The money only comes back if you leave on time through a commercial airport.

From 1 November 2026, citizens of Belarus, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye need a visa to enter Montenegro. Until 31 October the current visa-free entry still applies.
