Good to know
- Most travellers (EU, UK, US, Canada and 60+ other listed countries) do not need a visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days (3 months).
- Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Senegal.
- Border officials may ask for proof of onward or return travel and confirmation of your accommodation; you can be refused entry without them.
- Nationals of countries not on the visa-exemption list must obtain a visa in advance from a Senegalese embassy or consulate. There is currently no official online e-visa portal — apply in person or by post.
- A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if you arrive from, or have transited through, a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. Babies aged 9 months and under are exempt.
- To stay longer than 3 months, register with the local authorities after arrival to obtain a Carte d'étranger, which you must carry as ID.
