- Slovakia is part of the Schengen Area. Visa-exempt travellers may stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa; nationals who require a visa need a short-stay Schengen (type C) visa.
- The short-stay Schengen visa fee is EUR 90 (EUR 45 for children aged 6-12, free for under-6s, and EUR 35 for nationals of countries with an EU visa-facilitation agreement).
- The passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the previous 10 years.
