How to get here

How to get to Japan

Every way into Japan by air — each city's main airport plus the budget-carrier, secondary and cross-border options, with how long the transfer takes.

Getting to Nagoya

Chubu Centrair (NGO)

Nagoya's international gateway, built on an artificial island in Ise Bay. The Meitetsu μ-SKY limited express reaches Nagoya station in about 28 minutes — reserve the μ-SKY seat, the local trains take twice as long.

~30 min to NagoyaNGO airport

Kansai (KIX)

instead of Chubu Centrair (NGO)

Osaka's international airport has far more long-haul and low-cost routes than Centrair. Allow about 2.5 hours to Nagoya via the Haruka express and the Tokaido Shinkansen — covered by a Japan Rail Pass if you hold one.

Power & plugs

Japan runs on 100V with plug types A, B. Most chargers work with a simple plug adapter.

Type A
Two flat parallel pins
Type B
Two flat pins + ground

Good news — these socket types are mutually compatible, so a single Type A adapter covers all of Japan.
