Good to know
- Visitors from visa-exempt countries (including the USA, EU, UK and others) must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) before travelling to Israel, via the official system at israel-entry.piba.gov.il. Mandatory for all visa-exempt nationals since 1 August 2024.
- Apply at least 72 hours before the planned trip. An ETA-IL is valid for up to 2 years or until the passport expires, and permits stays of up to 90 days; you do not need to reapply during the validity period.
- The fee is NIS 25; during the pilot phase the application is free of charge. Accredited diplomats are exempt from applying.
- The ETA-IL is not a full visa — nationals who are not visa-exempt must obtain a visa. The State of Israel may change ETA-IL requirements at any time.
