About London Luton (LTN)

London Luton sits north of the city in Bedfordshire and is another of the capital's low-cost airports, serving a wide spread of European scheduled and charter destinations. It is a base for easyJet, Wizz Air, Ryanair and TUI, and has been through a significant modernisation of its terminal and forecourt in recent years.

The airport works from a single, fairly compact terminal, which keeps walking distances short but can feel crowded during busy holiday periods — so allow time at security. You'll find a decent selection of shops, food and drink, and a pay-in lounge. Its smaller scale makes it straightforward to navigate once you're inside.

Official network names

  • Luton Airport WIFIOfficial free network. Select it, then open a browser and follow the instructions on the Wi-Fi welcome page.

Connect only to these exact network names — lookalike hotspots at airports are a common phishing trick.

Good to know

  • Turn on Wi-Fi, choose "Luton Airport WIFI" from the network list, then open a browser and follow the welcome page.
  • Free unlimited Wi-Fi with no time limit.
  • Verify the exact name on-site, as it can change, and avoid lookalike hotspots — confirm the portal shows the airport's branding before entering any details.

This airport uses a WiFi sign-in page

You will pass through a captive portal — a web page — before you get online. It is worth treating as untrusted: a legitimate one asks you to accept terms, enter an email or type an SMS code. It never asks you to install an update or run a command.

Shared network · security

Shared airport WiFi. A VPN encrypts your traffic once you're on it.

On a shared network, anyone nearby can see which sites you open. A VPN encrypts your traffic after you're connected, and lets you reach home banking and apps that block foreign IPs. It does not cover the sign-in page itself, or anything you're persuaded to install.
